MASUNAGA1905, Masunaga Eyewear, Japanese glasses, Japan, craftsmaship, The Eye Piece Sydney

MASUNAGA Eyewear commenced manufacturing in 1905 in the Japanese region of FUKUI, which has now transformed into one of the three world's largest production regions for optical frames.

Involving as many as 200 manual processes to make a single optical frame, MASUNAGA is the only company in Japan that has their own factory for each process: from raw materials through to production and finishing of each frame. Their mission to "manufacture excellent eyeglasses" is instantly recognisable within each spectacle frame in their collection.

THE EYE PIECE Sydney is thus proud to welcome MASUNAGA1905 to the exclusive stable of brands that we carry and partner with. Our resident optical technician CHRIS DENT, a wearer of the brand himself, finds these frames lightweight, comfortable and finished in the highest detail.
Our new No.10 Hunter St store will be home to 40 brand new, hand-picked frames from the latest collection. A collection that we are excited to introduce for the first time in our SYDNEY boutique.

To top things off, THE EYE PIECE SYDNEY has also been granted exclusive access to the MASUNAGA designed by KENZO TAKADA Sunglass collection only available to select stockists.

KENZO TAKADA:  Legendary fashion designer and creator of the internationally renowned brand "KENZO" collaborates with MASUNAGA to design sunglasses and optical frames which combine vintage inspired elements with contemporary designs. Details include delicate engravings on the bridge, temples and incorporation of the KENZO Flower family emblem. We will be displaying 10 of the best sunglass styles from this range.
